Post your good deeds on www.milliondeeds.sg
Dear Guides,

The Olympic Flame for the first Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will journey through the five continents starting from Greece. The flame will travel to one city each in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania before arriving in Singapore.

Before the Olympic Flame begins its journey, people all over the world are invited to take part in the Million Deeds Challenge and connect to the Olympic movement and values through new media technologies. They are encouraged to do deeds of Excellence, Friendship and Respect within their communities, and share these deeds at the Million Deeds Challenge (by simply logging on to www.milliondeeds.sg), a micro-site of the Singapore 2010 website. Designed as a virtual torch relay, every deed posted will move the virtual flame a step closer from Greece to Singapore, travelling through all 205 National Olympic Committees (NOCs).

SYOGOC hopes that many Singaporeans would come forward to participate in the Million Deeds Challenge.

This is similar to the Girl Guide's "A Good Turn a Day". Here are some examples of what can be done:

On an individual basis,
help others to carry books, heavy bags, etc.
help a friend with her school work
offer a listening ear to cheer up someone
giving up her seat on the bus or MRT
hold the lift door or any door open for someone
be a positive influence

On a unit level,
take a group of children out for a day
visit senior citizens, chat and/or listen to them
maintain the garden in a Home

Please feel free to participate in this event and post your good deeds on www.milliondeeds.sg.

Thank you.
